ES515 - Hardware Description

The ES515 system is a 1U rackmount network appliance engineered for edge computing, networking, and security applications. This hardware description provides an overview of its physical design, interfaces, and technical specifications.

Front Panel

The ES515 front panel provides the following interfaces and controls:

  • 1x 1GbE RJ45 MGMT port

  • 8x 2.5GbE RJ45 LAN ports

  • 2x USB 3.0 ports

  • 1x RJ45 console port

  • 1x reset button

  • 1x 2x20-character LCM with 4-key keypad

  • Power, system status, and HDD activity LED indicators

  • 1x PCIe x8 slot for a front slim-type NIC module

Rear Panel

The ES515 rear panel provides:

  • 1x AC power inlet

  • 1x power On/Off switch

  • 3x smart cooling fans

  • 1x PCIe expansion slot on supported configurations

Device ID (DID) and Serial Number

Each device is assigned a unique Device ID (DID) and Serial Number. These identifiers are used for inventory management, registration, and customer support. The DID contains key hardware and manufacturing information, allowing customers and internal teams to identify the device model and configuration.

Device IDs are 17 characters long and follow the following format.

Example of an DID is - EC1G5AABCDEAABBCC

Description

Type Codel

The first two characters of the DID represent the Type Code, which identifies the product model. Type Code of the ES511 Model is EC.

Revision

Third character Revision is a single character that indicates the hardware revision of the device.

Manufacturer Code

Fourth character shows the Manufacturer Code. Refer the manufacturer codes below. In this example, G denotes the device was manufactured by GLiNet.
