Configurable Interfaces
With 6.4.0 release, there is a flexibility that any ethernet interface on the K4 edge server (applicable for all products) can be configured as either WAN interface, LAN interface or for VSAT management. Along with this flexibility, VLANs can be configured on the interfaces and the same can be configured as WAN sub-interface or as LAN access port. Note: Though some of the interfaces are physically labeled on the servers as WAN/LAN, it can be configured as per the need using this feature. It is now possible to configure the firewall from the web-portal (Other Settings screen in Configuration Wizard).
FBB / High Cost Link support
6.4.0 release introduces a new WAN type (similar to LTE/VSAT/WiFi) called FBB. With this interface type configured for any WAN links, the interface can be monitored independently. Along with this configuration, this interface can have a unique probe configuration, called “High Cost”. With this probe configuration, the FBB link is considered UP and usable as along as the physical link is active, there will not be any probes or speedtest done on this link and no operational traffic will be send on this link as well.
Revised UI for Internet Dashboard and MyAccount Page
The Internet Dashboard/Home page has been revised to present more information, including the Traffic distribution, Plan Details and the Location Map. From this dashboard, user can traverse to the various pages by clicking the links accordingly. MyAccount Page is enhanced to show the daily usage along with the current plan/quota. For LTE Usage, the details can be drilled down at the individual SIM level as well.
VSAT Controller on Non K4 Modems
Prior to 6.4 release, the VSAT controller interface which show the VSAT KPIs pulled from the iDirect modem is supported only on K4 provided VSAT modems. With this feature, the VSAT controller can be configured for any VSAT modems, as long as the modem is X7/iQ200 running iDirect Velocity software in them.
HTS Support on OneBoxV3
This feature supports HTS VSAT services on OneBox with the inbuilt dual VSAT modems. The functionalities/configurations are same as our HTS support on other products.
Geo Aware LTE Controller
K4 learns/identifies the best performing network/provider/band based on the data analysis, which is created by the data learned from the K4 vessels connecting to various Cellular networks. This information is periodically send back to the K4 edge server and based on the location of the vessel, optimal SIM/cellular network is selected without any intervention needed from the customer.
Captive - Access Network
Captive Portal allows for each crewman/client to have a provisioned account with an associated Service Plan. The Account’s “service plan” is customized to match corporate policy (Quota, Duration, Traffic Policy – e.g. 10GB/month with defined traffic policies). More details of the work flow is captured in the attached PPT.
