Debug and Troubleshooting

This guide illustrates the necessary steps to resolve common issues that may arise during normal use of EdgeOS.

Client cannot connect to the network

If the MAC address of the device of the client is not assigned to the network, then the client cannot connect to the network.

To verify whether the MAC address of the device is assigned to the network, perform the following steps.

  • Log on to the EdgeOS System, either directly or using Konnect.

  • Click the menu icon and navigate to Configuration Wizard.

  • Select Access Networks.

  • Perform steps to view network usage

If the MAC address of the device is unavailable, then the client cannot connect to the network.

Here, the admin can view the historical details of the network and device to verify whether the MAC address of the device is assigned to the network.

To view the historical details of the network, perform the following steps.

  • Log on to the EdgeOS System, either directly or using Konnect.       

  • Click the menu icon and navigate to Usage Status.

  • Perform steps to view details of the network and device

If the MAC address of the device is unavailable, then the client cannot connect to the network.

Client cannot access the internet

If the internet of a network is paused, then the entire device connected to that network cannot access the internet. If the internet of a specific device is paused, then that device cannot access the internet.

To view the historical details of the network, perform the following steps.

  • Log on to the EdgeOS System, either directly or using Konnect.       

  • Click the menu icon and navigate to Usage Status.

  • Option 1: Verify whether the internet is paused for the network under the Top Networks section. If the internet is paused, then resume the internet

  • Option 2: Verify whether the internet is paused for the device under the Top Devices section. If the internet is paused, then resume the internet.

Client cannot access an application

If the application, or domain, or IP address of the domain is blocked while configuring the traffic policy, then the client cannot access the application.

To verify the device traffic policy, perform the following policy.

Steps

  • Log on to the EdgeOS System, either directly or using Konnect.

  • Click the menu icon and navigate to Configuration Wizard.

  • Select General Settings.

  • Access the Device Traffic Policies section.

  • Verify the device traffic policy.

  • Click Traffic Policies.

  • Click Device.

  • Click the Edit icon corresponding to the traffic policy.

  • Access the Application Policy Profile section.

Verify the rules configured and allow the application.
