Topology

The Topology screen for the user accounts that have Aviation sites is explained below:

  • Once the user selects the required Site, the Topology screen opens. This screen lists all the devices deployed on the selected site.

Topology

  • Click the Update Site Name image-20240605-213852.png icon to edit the Site name.

  • Click the Update Device Nameimage-20240605-213855.png icon to edit the Device name.

  • The screen shows information such as:

    • Device Name - Name of the device

    • DID - Identification Number of the Device

    • EOS Version - Current EOS Version of the Device

    • Konnect Status - Status of the Device

    • Last Seen - Date and time when the device was last online

    • Connect to Portal - Link to open the Edge Portal

  • Click theimage-20241016-091551.pngicon from the Operations column to open the Configurations pop-up box of the selected device.

  • The Configurations pop-up box contains the following options in its left menu bar - Traffic Policy, Firewall, WAN Profile, Hub IP, Quota, System and Organization. These options can be used to create, copy and modify various configurations for the selected device.

Flight Details

The Flight Details section shows the details of the last journey.

  • Flight Number

  • Tail Number

  • Origin - The location from where the journey started

  • Destination - The location where the journey ended

  • Departure Time

  • Arrival Time

  • Status

  • Route Distance

  • Aircraft Type

  • Airspeed

  • Altitude

Flights

  • Click the Flights tab to view the details of the flight currently housing the device and the Fight Schedule.

Tail Number Update

The table shows the following information:

  • Timestamp

  • Device ID

  • Tail Number

  • Source

  • Module

  • Description

Flight Schedule

  • Timestamp

  • Device ID

  • Tail Number

  • Origin

  • Destination

  • Departure Time

  • Arrival Time

  • Status

  • Route Distance

  • Aircraft Type

  • Airspeed

  • Altitude

Maps

The Map screen provides geographical data that corresponds to the physical location of each site. It enables the user to see all their sites and devices of the selected Organization. The Map screen also shows historical signal performance metrics (RSSI, etc.) for physical locations of sites within an organization.

  • Select the Map option from the left menu bar of Kognitive Cloud.

  • In the Organization field, select the Organization or sub-organization from the dropdown menu. The logged in admin Organization is populated by default here. This is the organization corresponding to the email ID used to login.

  • The dropdown list consists of all the sub-organizations under logged in admin organization.

  • In the Sites field, select the required sites from the dropdown menu. The dropdown menu consists of all the sites associated with the selected Organization and sub-organizations.

  • The Sites are denoted by the aircraft icon image-20250409-110443.png on the map.

  • Click + icon on the right side of the screen to zoom in on the map.

  • Click - icon to zoom out.

  • Click at any location on the map and drag the cursor to pan.

  • The legend at the bottom left corner of the screen helps the user to differentiate between the Sites and the Starlink devices plotted on the map.

Map Legend

  • Hover the cursor on the Sites to see the Name of the site.

  • Click any site to view more details about the site such as Name, Last Seen, Availability and Alert data.

  • Clicking the image-20250409-123319.png icon of the site creates a new tab with the name of the site as highlighted in the below image.

Map

  • Click the newly created tab to view the Flights Selection window. This window lists all the journeys completed by the selected site.

Flights Selection

  • The Flights Selection window shows the following details:

    • Flight Number

    • Tail ID

    • Start Time - Start time of the journey

    • End Time - End time of the journey

    • Source

    • Destination

    • Availability - Status of internet connectivity

  • Click any one journey from the list to view the flight path/track of that journey.

Flight Path

  • The dotted line represents the intended flight path.

  • The blue line shows the actual trajectory that was followed.

Charts

  • Click the blue line to view the SDWAN Charts and Events occurred during the journey.

  • This feature enables the user to view the key metrics of the different WAN interfaces associated with the devices in the site. Each device deployed in the site has different WAN interfaces depending upon their type. These WAN interfaces have different key metrics to measure their performance.

  • Click the Interfaces field to open the dropdown menu. In this dropdown, the WAN interfaces associated with all the devices deployed in the site will be listed.

  • Select the required WAN interface.

  • In the Metrics field, select the required metrics from the dropdown menu. The Key Metrics available for different WAN interfaces are as follows:

    • Link Uptime

    • Peak Rate Estimate

    • Latency & Jitter

    • Throughput

    • SINR

    • RSSI

    • Clients

    • Usage

    • Site availability

    • LAN Status

    • Speed Test

  • The performance of the device based on the selected metrics is shown in the format of a chart. The horizontal axis contains the time instances, and the vertical axis contains the metric values in their corresponding SI unit.

  • The graph between these two axes gives the user a clear understanding of how the device has performed during the selected time interval.

SDWAN - Charts

  • The user can select multiple WAN interfaces at the same time and compare their performances.

  • The user can also select multiple Metrics at the same time and view their values.

Multiple Interfaces Metrics

  • The Legend provided below the Chart helps the user to differentiate between the various types of metric values plotted in the chart. It also shows the Minimum value, Maximum value, and Average value of the selected metric.

  • Hover the cursor at any point on the chart to view the value of the metric at that time instance.

Events

  • The user can also view the Events occurred in the WAN interfaces.

  • Select the Events tab.

  • The Events table shows the log of all events occurred in the system.

  • Click the Filter button to filter the events table based on the following options.

    • Select the checkboxes of the source for which the user wants to view the events.

    • Select the checkboxes of the Modules for which the user wants to record the events.

    • Select the checkboxes of the Levels for which the user wants to record the events.

Map Layers

  • Click the Layers icon image-20240524-125351.png to open the Map Layers pop up.

  • The Map Layers pop up opens as shown below:

Heat Maps

  • Click the image-20240524-130208.png icon to open the Heat Maps section. The Heat Maps section enables the user to divided the entire map into several hexagonal layers and view their data parameters individually.

  • There are two types of Heat Maps - Macro & Micro.

    • The Macro layer is used to analyze a larger area. One Macro hexagon covers 12393 square km.

    • The Micro layer is used to analyze a smaller area. One Micro hexagon covers 1770 square km.

Heat Maps

  • Select the Heat Maps type (Macro/Micro).

  • Select the Data Source. The Data Source field enables the user to toggle between different Data Sources such as Starlink and Cell to view their performance metrics and analyze them.

  • Select the Starlink option under the Data Source section.

  • The performance parameters available for Starlink are:

    • Latency

    • Speed

    • Drop Percentage

Latency

  • Select Latency.

  • The hex layers show the latency values at different areas of the map.

  • The value of Latency at any point can be known from the color of the corresponding hex layer.

  • The legend at the bottom of the screen can be referred to understand the color codes of different Latency values.

  • Hover the cursor on the bar chart to view the latency experienced in that particular instance.

Speed

  • Select Speed.

  • The hex layers show the Internet Speed values at different areas of the map.

  • The value of Speed at any point can be known from the color of the corresponding hex layer.

  • The legend at the bottom of the screen can be referred to understand the color codes of different Speed values.

  • Hover the cursor on the bar chart to view the latency experienced in that particular instance.

Drop Percentage

  • Select Drop Percentage.

  • The hex layers show the Drop Percentage values at different areas of the map.

  • The value of Drop Percentage at any point can be known from the color of the corresponding hex layer.

  • The legend at the bottom of the screen can be referred to understand the color codes of different Drop Percentage values.

Layers for Cell

  • Select the Cell option under the Data Source section.

  • If the user selects Cell, one more additional field will be available. Select the required Provider from the dropdown menu. Now the map will be filtered and only the hex layers where the selected provider is available will be shown to the user.

  • The performance parameters available for Cell are:

    • Call Performance

    • Fastest Speed

Call Performance

  • Select Call Performance.

  • The hex layers show the Drop Percentage values at different areas of the map.

  • The value of Drop Percentage at any point can be known from the color of the corresponding hex layer.

  • The RSSI value is taken as metric to measure the Call Performance.

  • The legend on the bottom of the screen shows the different color codes and their corresponding RSSI value.

Call Performance - Legend

  • The Hex Layers are colored as per the RSSI value existing in that particular area of the map. This helps the user to understand the Call Performance at that area.

Call Performance

Fastest Speed

  • Select Fastest Speed.

  • The hex layers show the Fastest Speed values at different areas of the map.

  • The value of Fastest Speed at any point can be known from the color of the corresponding hex layer.

  • The Mbps (Megabyte per second) value is taken as metric to measure the speed of internet connectivity.

  • The legend on the bottom of the screen shows the different color codes and their corresponding Mbps value.

  • The Hex Layers are colored as per the Mbps value existing in that particular area of the map. This helps the user to understand the speed of internet connectivity at that area.
